• 1:00 p.m. Departure from Antigua
  • 1:00 p.m. Return the following day (approximate time)

We will have a specific departure point, which will be provided once your reservation is confirmed. The group consists of 10-15 people. Upon arrival at the meeting point, you will be given detailed instructions on how to climb the volcano, including information on the route. The Acatenango Volcano is a popular destination for hiking and nature lovers, offering a unique and challenging experience in a breathtaking volcanic setting. The ascent to Acatenango is considered difficult and requires good physical condition and stamina. It offers spectacular views of the erupting Fuego Volcano and reaches an altitude of 3,976 meters above sea level, making it the third highest volcano in Guatemala.

The 4×4 vehicle will not take you to the summit, but will drop you off at a point significantly higher than La Soledad, considerably reducing the distance and elevation gain you will have to walk. Once the vehicle drops you off at the permitted point, you will begin the hike to the camp, which usually takes 2 hours depending on the pace of the group.

Upon arrival at the camp, the guide will assign you to the cabin where you will spend the night. He will also provide you with a light dinner.
