Day Hike Tour to Pacaya Volcano

First option:

• DEPARTURE TIMES: 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 a.m.
• Return at approximately: 1:00 p.m.

Second option:

• DEPARTURE TIMES: 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• Return at approximately 8:30 p.m.

A 19-person bus will pick you up at your hotel in Antigua and take you to San Vicente Pacaya National Park. The bus ride takes approximately an hour and a half. The hike takes approximately an hour and a half.

The ascent to Pacaya Volcano is not difficult, making it a popular excursion for people of various ages and fitness levels. However, some sections may have sandy terrain that requires a little more effort and appropriate footwear.

Upon reaching the summit, the guide will give you marshmallows to roast on the hot rocks. You will have an estimated 45 minutes to explore the area and take beautiful photographs.

It is also important to mention that if you do not wish to walk, you can rent a horse for an additional cost of approximately Q250, which can be arranged at the entrance to the National Park.
